A Year in Review

2024 has been a big year for Hillam Architects, with several projects commencing construction and hitting important milestones along the way.

A huge thankyou to our staff, our clients, the builders and experts that work with us to deliver great outcomes. We’ll be back on January 6, 2025 to do it all again. Have a safe and happy holiday season.

Here are some of the highlights.

January

  • Construction announced for The Gardens, Nedlands, with the appointment of Thomas Building.
  • Construction announced for The Dunes, Scarborough, with the appointment of Roberts Co.

February

  • Construction commences at Broadway on the Bay, Crawley with Edge Construction.
  • Rivière Residences East Building tops out!
  • The Gardens breaks ground with a sod-turning celebration. Piling works are complete.

  • The crane is installed at The Gardens and the first slab pour is complete.

July

  • Crane is mobilised at Clayton’s Mindarie.
  • Design work commences for a private single residence in Margaret River.

August

  • The first curved column is poured at The Gardens. A key element of the façade is the beautiful soft curve, which are a contemporary reference to the classic Art Deco design throughout Nedlands.
  • Scaffolding begins to drop at Rivière Residences.
  • Hillam Architects win a modular housing project for regional key worker accommodation.

September

  • Hillam Architects win a regional project for site masterplanning and key worker accommodation.
  • Hay Street Terraces DA approved.

October

  • Rivière Residences achieves a great design and engineering milestone with the removal of the props for the feature cantilevered pool.
  • A striking feature column has been completed at The Gardens, adding a unique architectural element to the project at the entrance to the foyer.
  • Bulk earthworks are well underway at The Dunes with 700m3 of earthworks being moved from site each day.
