The Elements has been featured in a case study by Green Building Council Australia in the recently released report, Rise and Thrive: Sustainable Apartments for a resilient Australia.

The Elements by Kinleaf, Perth, Sentinel Australia

“A showcase for sustainable build-to-rent development, The Elements by Kinleaf made history as the first apartment building certified under the Australian Government’s Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard for Buildings. Achieving an average 8-star NatHERS rating and a 5 Star Green Star rating, The Elements has a range of sustainable features including energy efficient appliance packages provided to residents in all apartments, solar panels for common area energy usage, LED lighting, rainwater and greywater recycling systems, electric vehicle charging stations, embedded network metering to each apartment and access to a centralised geothermal system. The on-site property management team also runs a program of social events and activities to encourage social connection between residents and support the growth of a vibrant community.”

As the first purpose-made “build-to-rent” (BTR) development in Australia, managed by Sentinel Australia’s specialist BTR brand, Kinleaf, Hillam Architects are proud to have designed the first two buildings Lot 208 and Lot 207, completed 2019 and 2022 respectively. A third Hillam-designed building (Lot 204) for The Elements has already received development approval.

Hillam’s design offers a range of apartment types, from studios to one-, two- and three-bedroom dwellings, with high end resident amenities such as fitness centres, resident lounges, pools and rooftop terraces that extend living spaces beyond the front door.
