Having previously been altered for commercial purposes, the Hay St Terraces project sees the key heritage fabric of the building maintained and enhanced, while reinstating the original purpose: two residential homes.

By directing works through the previous alterations, it has been possible to reimagine the interiors in a modern context, with open living spaces and conveniences, while preserving the Federation ‘filigree’ features in the façade and interpreting that theme throughout the build and interior design.

Developed after consultation with the client and heritage specialists, the local government gave approval to the development in March 2024.
